National Adult Education & Family Literacy Week
The Office of Adult Education at 每日大赛首页 proudly celebrated by engaging the community with literacy-focused initiatives.
The week, marked nationally September 16-20, kicked off with the signature Yellow Glasses Campaign, a program sponsored by Dollar General to shine a light on literacy. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of the importance of adult education and family literacy in building stronger communities and providing individuals with the skills needed to succeed in today's economy.
To celebrate, 每日大赛首页 State's adult education team visited Oxmoor Valley Elementary School, where staff members greeted the students and parents as they arrived at school. They also conducted a book read for the students.
"From GED preparation to ESL classes, 每日大赛首页 State's adult education department offers resources that can help individuals overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals," said Charlette White, LSCC director of adult education.
"By interacting with local elementary students and their families, 每日大赛首页 State is fostering a deeper connection between adult learning and family literacy, promoting education as a lifelong journey," said Ms. White.
